The Economy Act

The Department of Defense (DoD) receives air transport requests for worthwhile projects. These requests often come from religious organizations and community service groups like the Rotary and Lions Clubs. The DoD can support these requests only if they meet procedures and requirements mandated by Federal law – specifically the Economy Act (31 U.S.C. 1535 and 1536).
