Advisory Board on Veterans Services

The Advisory Board on Veterans Services advises the Director of the Office of Veterans Services on veterans’ issues – legislative proposals and program operations.

The Board consists of eight voting members representing all of the state’s counties. At least five of the board’s seven members must be veterans and three members must be women. Members serve for four-year terms.

The governor nominates members who are subject to a public hearing by the Senate Committee on Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs.

The current members of the Advisory Board are:

Chair/Oahu: Ann Greenlee

Vice Chair/West Hawaii: William “Clay” Park

East Hawaii: Harold Bugado

West Hawaii: James Traxler

Kauai: Wilbert Pereira

Maui: Chelsea Fernandez

Oahu: Michael Lilly

Oahu: Bridget Komine

The Board meets on the first Friday of each month from 0900-1100 to discuss matters related to the state’s 120,000 veterans. Meetings are held through video conference sites all over the State of Hawaii and are open to the public.
