How to Prepare for Pain Without Going Nuts
Several months ago, I spent four weeks and five days obsessing about pain.
This was after an appointment with an oral surgeon who, believing that full disclosure was the way to go, described the procedure she needed to do to remove a lesion on the roof of my mouth as “very, very uncomfortable.”
“Does it really warrant two ‘verys’?” said I.
“Unfortunately, yes,” said she. “Picture the worst pizza burn you have ever had and multiply that by a lot. I don’t like to sugar-coat things.”
