Retiree Update: DOD retirees

A group of State Department of Defense retirees have dinner periodically to “talk story”. Dinner is usually Chinese with lots of fun catching up with each other’s lives.

Updates:

Jim Townsend retired from his state position with Hq, Hawaii Air National Guard about five years ago. He and his wife travel periodically to visit grandchildren.

Galen Yoshimoto continues to work for the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, but will retire later this year. He will continue his social media experimentation.

Les Bise retired from this State position with the Junior ROTC program about two years ago.  He was a fulltime member of the Hawaii Army National Guard for many years.

Emerick Kaneshi retired from his State position about four years ago. His time is split between golf and grandchildren.

Eli Ichishita retired as the State DOD’s Personnel Officer several years ago.  She currently works as a manpower staffer with another state department. Eli has four grandchildren to pamper.

Ann Miyahira retired from her state position as the secretary to the Deputy Adjutant General two years ago. She currently works as a temporary support staffer at the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency.

Vern Nakasone continues to work at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. He returned to this position after retiring from the Hawaii Army National Guard where he served as the Adjutant General’s Senior Enlisted Leader. Vern continues to be an avid golfer.
