293 CBCS deactivation ceremony

293d Combat Communications Squadron received its Federal recognition on March 6, 1967. The unit was one of five new subordinate units authorized as the 201st Combat Communications Squadron became the 201st Combat Communications Group.

When the National Guard Bureau deactivated the 201 CCG on June 1, 2014, the remaining combat comm squadrons realigned under the 154th Mission Support Group, 154th Wing. The 201st Intelligence Squadron and the 297th Air Traffic Control Squadron became part of the 154th Operations Group, 154th Wing.

The squadron deactivation ceremony was held on November 5, 2016 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Among the attendees were former members and retirees Myron Dobashi, Edmund “Fred” Hyun, Eric Kim, Gary Mizumoto, Ernest Shima.
