“Go for Broke” Movie Assistance needed

April 14, 2017

The State Department of Defense Public Affairs Office received an email requested volunteers to participate in the final scene of a movie about the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Hundreds of extras will be part of the film’s final shoot this weekend, re-enacting the soldiers’ celebrated sendoff in Honolulu in March of 1943.

If anyone can either show up for the 10:00 a.m. filming or the 1:00 p.m. shoot to be a spectator at Iolani Palace on Sunday, it would help their cause.   The actual gathering back in 1943 had 17,000 spectators and 3,000 soldiers at Iolani Palace, so the more we have, the better!
