Off Track: July 1 is Bobby Bonilla Day
From the ESPN website
Seventeen years ago, the New York Mets agreed to defer what they owed their fading slugger Bobby Bonilla.
Mets equated $5.9 million they owed Bonilla in 2000 to $1.1 million per year from 2011 to 2035 at 8% annual interest rate. In the process, Bonilla avoided New York state income tax and now lives in Florida with no state income tax.
