Attention Hawaii Guard Generals

July 10, 2017

The State Department of Defense’s Public Affairs Office asked Retiree News to publish this request for information. The collection of information is always tedious, but we need to preserve our Hawaii National Guard history. While the call is to the general officers, it is a call to family and friends who have any information. This especially critical for those who have passed. Mahalo for your support.

Calling all Hawaii National Guard General Officers. The Hawaii DoD Public Affairs Office is compiling a data base to include the name (including middle/”nick” names); all ethnicities (e.g. Hawaiian, Chinese, Irish, Portuguese); schools attended (high school & college); positions served and dated of service (e.g. commander of Hawaii Army National Guard from mm/dd/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy); wars served in; if they passed/when and where they are buried.

We have much of the information, but there are many holes.

The following are the ones without complete information
