The onslaught of news related to the COVID-19 pandemic continues, and the following articles are of interest to Retiree News readers. 

TRICARE users who typically face copays for off-base doctor visits and tests will not owe anything out of pocket for the appointment if they are receiving a coronavirus test, but those required to head off-base for prescriptions must pay any related costs themselves. Continue reading

According to their recent email, Medicare expanded additional key services due to the COVID-19 emergency:

Lab tests for COVID-19. You pay no out-of-pocket costs.

All medically necessary hospitalizations. This includes if you’re diagnosed with COVID-19 and need to stay in the hospital under quarantine instead of being discharged from the hospital after an inpatient stay.
