Is the Commissary Surcharge Going to Increase?

I heard that the commissary surcharge is going up, and it’s going to cost us more to shop there. Is that true?
There’s good news and bad news. First, the good news is that the surcharge is definitely not going up.
There is, however a relatively recent additional fee for using debit or credit cards.
Overall, interest in commissary cost increases do not receive much interest for most retirees. Unlike Honolulu, these are a lack of commissaries in most states (and our neighbor islands). Congress had moved toward less financial support and requiring commissaries to be self supporting. The drive to merge commissaries and exchanges will continue to reduce operating costs.
