Hurricanes or tropical cyclones are among nature’s most powerful and destructive phenomena. If you live in an area prone to hurricanes, you need to be prepared. The Central Pacific hurricane season begins on June 1 and runs through November 30.

While the guide recommends a three-day supply of food and water, here in Hawai‘i, we need to have 7-10 days of supplies because of our isolation and dependence on shipping for essentials.
