Summertime Heart Smarts

Good news: Several studies have shown heart attacks and heart attack symptoms, such as chest pain, are less common during the summer months and more common in winter. One theory to explain the higher number of winter heart attacks is that blood clots form more quickly in colder temperatures. A blood clot inside a coronary artery can cause heart attack symptoms.
