Check Six: Kelly’s Drive In
Kelly’s Drive In and the Bronco Bar operated for 47 years closing on March 31, 1998.
For those too young to remember, Kelly’s was on the corner of Nimitz Highway and Puuloa Street in Mapunapuna. The three-story Cycle City building stands there today.
Many Air Guard members ate breakfast there on UTA weekends. Service was quick because the restaurant staff knew when members had to be in the morning formation. (Yes, there were a morning formation of troops.)
