Taps: George “Kappy” Kapeliela

George “Kappy” Kapeliela, 84, a musician, vocalist and drum major for the Royal Hawaiian Band and a Hawaii Army National Guard veteran, passed away on April 15, 2016. He was born in Honolulu.

He is survived by wife Jolynn T., sons George Thronas and Guy Kapeliela, daughter Leimomi Gonzales, brother Solomon Jr., sister Emily McRae, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation: 10 a.m. May 2 at Borthwick Mortuary. Services: 11 a.m. Burial: 2 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Aloha attire. Flowers welcome.
