What Can I Do About That Ringing in My Ears?
If you hear a ringing or buzzing in your ears – a symptom known as tinnitus – you’re not alone. According to the National Institutes of Health, one out of ten U.S. adults has experienced tinnitus in the past year.
Like eye floaters, those shadowy specks that float across your field of vision, tinnitus is distracting but usually not serious. Still, chronic or severe tinnitus can impact a person’s quality of life. A survey conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 30 percent of people reporting tinnitus classified it as a “moderate” to “very big” problem.
