Hawaii Army Museum Society recently present the 36th annual golf tournament at the Leilehua Gold Course.

The Hawaii Army Museum Society (HAMS) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable corporation, chartered since 1976, whose sole mission is to support the U. S. Army Museum of Hawaii at Fort DeRussy. This is a non-federal entity and is not a part of the Department of Defense or any of its components and it has no governmental status.

Les Bise, Rock Arakaki and Roy Yamashita were long time members of the Hawaii Army National Guard. During their careers, they served in many positions in the organization.

After his fulltime Guard retirement, Les became a Junior ROTC instructor at Leilehua High School. He later took a position with the JROTC program office until his retirement about two years ago.

Rock went on to become a Junior ROTC instructor at Waianae High School, taught with another HIARNG retiree Haines Rego. Rock retired several years ago. Most recently, Rock is leading the Hawaii Hazards Awareness and Resilience Program (HHARP) for the Waianae Coast. HHARP helps communities prepare to be self-reliant during and after natural hazard events, improve their ability to take care of their own needs, and reduce the negative impacts of disasters.

Roy is fully retired and enjoys golfing.
