Check Six – F-4 Era: WSO Gar Pilgram

This undated photograph shows Gar Pilgram, who served as a Weapon Systems Officer (WSO), during the 199th Fighter Squadron’s F-4 Phantom era (1976–1987). A Weapon Systems Officer (WSO), nicknamed “Wizzo“, is an air flight officer directly involved in all air operations and weapon systems of a military aircraft. Gar was a Traditional Guardmember who worked in radio at KGMB – K59. (KGMB transitioned to KSSK radio in 1980.)
