It is truly unfortunate that a few years later, the Air Force chose to eliminate historian billets at the wing level.

Labor Day is a United States national holiday, honoring working people, their contributions, achievements and sacrifices in pursuit of national prosperity and well-being. It is held annually on the first Monday of September.
As part of the Labor Day celebrations, street parades are held in many parts of the country.
Labor Day and the long weekend that it creates is generally seen to mark the end of the summer season (while Memorial Day is considered to be the beginning of the summer season). Summer cultural activities end, and fall activities, such as school and sports events, start around this time. In many areas school classes resume shortly before or after the Labor Day holiday weekend.

James Earl Jones is a renowned film and stage actor who is recognized for his deep voice. In addition, he has done voice overs for several notable films.
Jones served in the United States Army. He was commissioned in mid-1953, after the Korean War’s end, and reported to Fort Benning to attend the Infantry Officers Basic Course. He attended Ranger School and received his Ranger Tab (although he said during an interview on the BBC’s The One Show, screened on November 11, 2009, that he “washed out” of Ranger training).
He was initially to report to Fort Leonard Wood, but his unit was instead sent to establish a cold weather training command at the former Camp Hale near Leadville, Colorado. His battalion became a training unit in the rugged terrain of the Rocky Mountains. Jones was promoted to first lieutenant prior to his discharge.
After his discharge, he returned to the stage performances. His first important movie role was as Lieutenant Lothar Zogg in Dr. Strange Love (1964). As his film and voice over careers expanded, he still took on major stage roles.
Jones is perhaps best known for his voice over for Lord Darth Vader in the Star Wars series. He was the voice of Simba’s father, Mufasa in the Lion King movies.
Among his many movie roles, he is known as Jack Jefferson in The Great White Hope (1970), King Jaffe Joffer in Coming to America (1988), Terence Mann in Field of Dreams (1989), and Vice Admiral James Greer, CIA Deputy Director of Intelligence (DDI) in The Hunt for Red October (1990), Patriot Games (1992), Clear and Present Danger (1994).
