In Honolulu magazine’s September issue is an article titled The Zippy’s Senior Club. Writer Martha Cheng interviews senior citizens who frequent Zippy’s on a regular basis. Among those interviewed for the article is Hawaii Air National Guard retiree Clifford Fukuji. Cliff served in the life support section for many years. The article includes a photograph of Cliff and his wife Kathleen. Unfortunately, most of Honolulu magazine digital content is behind a “pay wall”, so you need to get a paper copy to read the article.

“Start by drinking coffee. It’s one of the biggest sources of antioxidants in the American diet.”

Dan Buettner and I were off to a good start. He approved of coffee.

“It’s one of the biggest sources of antioxidants in the American diet,” he said with chipper confidence, folding up his black Brompton bike.
