TRICARE Standard

Every wondered about TRICARE Standard, a benefit for retired Guardmembers. For most members, you are covered starting at age 60 (when you get your blue retired ID card) and continues until reach age 65.

Currently TRICARE Standard remains a free benefit. TRICARE is part of the Department of Defense budget, not a standalone program like most Veterans Affairs programs. With budget shrinking, the DoD proposed a fee structure for TRICARE programs in their budget submittal.
