It sounds like a lot, but considering that your body is made up of 60 percent water, it sort of makes sense that you’d need about that much to keep things running smoothly. Here, seven things that might happen if you drank a gallon of water every day.

USAF Assistant Vice Chief Fired for Misconduct  Lt. Gen. John Hesterman, assistant vice chief of staff of the Air Force, was removed from office March 17 after an Air Force Inspector General investigation substantiated misconduct that took place five years ago before he pinned on a third star. Most of the report’s analysis has been redacted, but the investigation found that “a string of suggestive emails, supports the conclusion” that between March and May 2011, Hesterman “wrongfully engaged in an unprofessional relationship” with an Air Force lieutenant colonel.

Check Six: pūpūkahi March 2001 – 15 years ago  The pūpūkahi is the State of Hawaii Department of Defense monthly newsletter. Printed versions of the pūpūkahi have been the “command information” newsletter for decades.

Check Six: Haleiwa Field  The date of construction of the Haleiwa airfield has not been determined. The earliest depiction of the field which has been located was a 1933 aerial photo, which depicted a group of B-6A biplanes on a grass field.
