From the Military.com website

TRICARE pharmacy co-pays for most drugs will go up in 2018 due to a measure expected to be approved by lawmakers.

The measure, approved by the Senate early this year, is included in the final version of the annual Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), congressional staff said Wednesday at a briefing with reporters.

Over the next 12 years, the measure would steadily increase co-pays for most drugs through retail pharmacies, while adding new fees to those received by mail.

PBS Documentary: VA: The Human Cost of War

From the PBS website

“VA: The Human Cost of War” explores what it does and how it functions, its vast size and critical importance, and its history and provenance — how and why it came into existence, how and why it has changed over time, how it has come to be broken in critical ways in recent generations and how it may be reformed going forward.

Told through a series of personal stories from veterans and intertwined with deep historical and political analysis from leading scholars and elected officials, the film illustrates the key ways in which the VA, and we as a society, fail our veterans, who, according to Department of Veterans Affairs research, continue to commit suicide at the harrowing rate of 20 veterans per day.

Watch this documentary film that explores the history of the Department of Veterans Affairs, from the troubled beginnings of the Veterans Bureau of the 1920s, to the modern VA system. The film chronicles, in depth and often wrenching detail, the workings of this crucial but at times beleaguered American institution.

Off Track: Where to Get Locally Brewed Craft Beer in Honolulu

From the Honolulu Magazine website

Longtime residents will remember we haven’t always had much of a craft beer scene. Compared to the robust craft beer hotspots of Portland, San Diego and Denver, Honolulu lagged for years. According to Timothy Golden, co-owner of the newly opened Village Bottle Shop & Tasting Room in Kaka‘ako, the craft beer scene in Hawai‘i changed for the better five years ago. “Up until that point, O‘ahu was plagued with a string of failed breweries,” he says. “Either the beers weren’t of the greatest quality or the businesses were just poorly run.”

Beginning in 2012, a wave of new openings—both breweries and bars—changed the craft beer landscape. “Real a Gastropub and Pint + Jigger both opened with stellar beer lineups. Then Honolulu Beerworks, Waikīkī Brewing Co. and Lanikai Brewing Co. all opened within a few months of each other and, all of a sudden, O‘ahu had three craft breweries,” recalls Golden, who began writing the popular Beer in Hawai‘i blog around the same time

In fact, most of the foods you buy in the grocery store have been “processed” in some way.
