MSgt Richard “Dickie” Saunders was the first recruiter as the Vietnam War and the military draft ended. It was a tough job back then and remains so today. Many HIANG members have served as recruiters over the years. The current team continues the traditional of quality recruiting.

Qigong is a meditative practice incorporating breathing techniques, movement, sound, and self-massage. Its origins lie in traditional Chinese medicine and philosophy.
According to the National Qigong Association, qi means “vital energy,” while gong means “skill cultivated through steady practice.”
There are many different styles of qigong, with some focusing on health, while others revolve around martial arts training or spirituality.

“Pill organizers are often considered an ‘elderly’ item, but they can be very helpful for patients of all ages,” says Jenna Liphart Rhoads, a Green Bay, Wisconsin-based registered nurse, certified nurse educator and an advisor at the website Nurse Together.

Billy served as a Traditional member, but did an active duty tour for a few years. In civilian life, he worked at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam engineering office.
Garrick, another Traditional member, was a Honolulu Gas Company employee.
Billy commented that they were doing check list training on a Martin Baker seat during a phase inspection.

Operator’s manuals have a boring reputation, but not if they are written for one of the best fighter jets ever developed.
Retired Air Force Col. Terry “Stretch” Scott found that out during his time flying the F-22 Raptor, the Air Force’s fifth-generation fighter designed to kick down the door of enemy air defenses.
“The flight controls … are phenomenal,” Scott said on the Fighter Pilot Podcast in 2019. The original operator’s manual actually read “you may fly this aircraft with reckless abandon,” he recalled, and while the manual has changed since the aircraft’s first flight more than two decades ago, the spirit of the Raptor is the same as ever.
If you are under 60 and in reasonably good health, I believe you will witness some groundbreaking health care advances within your lifetime. And, I believe, you will be able to grow young with the aid of these astonishing new technologies.
Living to at least 100 is within reach for most people on the planet today. In the United States, 50% currently make it past 83 and 25% past 90. Going forward, these numbers will only improve for anyone who follows what I call a longevity-optimized lifestyle.

Honolulu has talked about building a rail system since 1967.
Discussions and attempts to build a rail transit system in Honolulu have spanned five decades, eight mayors and seven governors. These are some highlights of past efforts.

Rusty Spray, Colonel (Ret), the Executive Director of the National Guard Association – Hawaii Ins, Inc. asked Retiree News to post this information about the HNGA’s new facility.
The National Guard Association is the proud owner of a facility located at 891 Valkenburgh Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96818.
Though our Grand Opening is scheduled for September 17, 2022, our banquet hall is now open and available for reservations. Graduations, 1st Birthdays, retirements, craft fairs, fundraisers, unit functions, wedding receptions, birthday parties, corporate events, and anniversary parties, etc.
We are advertising to the National Guard and State Department of Defense now before we open reservations to the public at the end of the month.
